The UL-S boiler type is a three-way boiler with a large water volume that meets all requirements in the medium and high power ranges.
In a cylindrical pressure vessel, the fire tube, the internal combustion chamber for flue gases, are washed with water, and the first and second passes of the smoke tubes are arranged in such a way as to optimize the passage of gas flows. The radiant and convective heating surfaces work together to ensure rapid water circulation, thus accelerating the movement of steam bubbles into the steam chamber. The heat supplied by the burning fuel is quickly converted into steam without excessive stress on the materials thanks to uniform heat transfer. The large water volume provides enough space to cover even sudden peak steam consumption.

The patent for three-pass technology, issued in 1952, is the basis for the outstanding success of this model, which still exists today. The fire tube (first pass) and two bundles of smoke tubes (second and third passes) are perfectly integrated into the pressure vessel together with the rear swivel chamber, which is washed with water. Thanks to the lateral position of the fire tube and the horizontal rotation of the flue gases at the rear and the vertical rotation at the front, a large radiant and convection heating surface with a large steam chamber is combined with minimal external dimensions. The bottom is securely fastened thanks to a large heat pipe that runs through it, and thanks to the clever use of corner anchors to distribute the load, it is securely connected to the boiler shell..
If superheated steam is required instead of saturated steam, a superheater module can be installed on the front rotary chamber. A safety valve continuously regulates the temperature of the superheated steam over a wide range of loads. The surface of the flues is easily accessible through the opening door of the rotary chamber.
